The UAE is home to many different religions and beliefs. Did you know there’s a Buddhist temple in Dubai? Well, there is – in Jumeirah, tucked away behind the old zoo. As well as hosting services on Friday, the temple hosts monks from Sri Lanka who educate in the basic fundamentals of the religion.
Here in today’s episode of Hi Dubai, we met Tenzin Choeyang – an Indian-born Tibetan and a regular at the temple. She has called the UAE home for over a decade. She tells us more about her faith, and why she’s so happy in the UAE.
“Living in Dubai as a Buddhist, I can only remember positive reaction”, says Tenzin. “I feel very comfortable living here. You have opportunity based on merits, you’re not judged by your faith. I see the future of the UAE as very promising because of the leaders.”
