Dubai Internet City (DIC), one of the largest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) business parks in the Middle East and North Africa region, is celebrating its 20th anniversary today. Launched by Mohammed bin Rashid on October 29, 1999, it is still to this day driving innovation and technology in Dubai. Created to have an ideal environment for entrepreneurs, technology and great ideas, it is the largest free zone for IT activities. It is also a regional hub for global technology companies such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft and many others. The city witnessed giant deals of a several Dubai-based companies, such as: Careem,Uber, Media.Net, and Souq.com. These deals confirm Dubai's status as a talent incubator and an industry for future innovation.
