From the football pitch into the classroom

His teacher, Atta Sayouri, describes him as a leader in the classroom and on the football field.

For the star of Al Ain Football Club, these words continue to encourage Subait Khater to do better.

The former footballer, who previously represented the UAE in several international championships, is now pursuing his college degree at the Abu Dhabi Higher College of Technology, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Having won the 2003 Asian Games, along with five other championships, Khater admits he tries not to draw attention to himself, which is why he sits at the very back of his classes.

Khater describes this stage of his life as self-development.

There was a time when he was embarrassed to speak in English; however, enrolling in college changed all that for him as he developed his language skills.

Khater says those who do not try, will never succeed.

His college mates call him spontaneous, playful and very social.
