The Sustainable City in Dubai is built on the concept of social, economic and environmental sustainability. It is the first operational project of its kind in the country, and stretches over 460 hectares in the Dubailand area.

It runs on clean energy from solar panels, so the city's atmosphere is free of pollution. Opened in 2016, the city is expected to have a population of about 2500 people. It includes: an environmental resort with 143 rooms, a specialised environmental university run by an accredited American institution, a learning dome for students, a certified environmental school, health club that takes into consideration the principles of the environment and sustainability, an equestrian center, a 3 KM cycling track, and electric vehicles that connect different parts of the city.
