Most people have stopped carrying large amounts of money but could we be seeing the end of cash and credit cards or cheques altogether?

Around the world, people are paying for services and even traffic fines in novel ways – and none of them involve cash.

In Leeds, England they’re encouraging people to recycle plastic by letting everybody pay their parking fees in used bottles.

In parts of China you can apologise for your traffic offence on social media and have the fine waived if you get at least 20 likes!

And in the US, some McDonalds will let you pay for food with a selfie. Our video’s got more.
