Faisal Al Ketbi is the leader of the UAE’s jujitsu team, a black belt and a world champion.

Faisal thinks there’s a hero in all of us.  “A dream is something we imagine we can reach”, he tells Dubai Post. “And with work and dedication, we can realise it.”

He takes that belief to the next generation of jujitsu champions, trusting their abilities and heartened by the support in the UAE to help people reach the medal podium.

"The biggest honour is to stand on the podium with the UAE flag rising above him. It’s one of our goals for everyone.”

Faisal himself has won dozens of medals, most notably the Abu Dhabi jujitsu Championships where he won the 2009 gold, two golds in 2010, the 2011 silver, the 2013 and 2014 gold medals, as well as scores of local, continental and international medals.

During the 2017-2018 season, Al Ketbi won gold in Poland, gold and silver in the second Asian Championship in Vietnam, and two golds at the Futsal Games in Turkmenistan, and a gold medal in Jakarta.
