Nada Al Fouzan narrates her experience of living in Japan, a country that is modern yet retains its hold on history.

Nada had been living in Japan with her husband and son for nearly a year. She recollects that when she first moved to the Asian country, she was clueless about its traditions. All she knew was how different its culture was from her Arabian heritage.

Today, as Nada explores Japan’s rich culture, she draws parallels with her own customs, while acknowledging the two ancient civilizations are polar opposites in so many ways.

While Nada’s learnings are slow and gradual, she can already see her son adopting the Japanese culture from his environment.

Catch Nada’s adventures as she features on two weekly episodes on Dubai Post, where she speaks of her experience living in Japan as an Arab mother and a GCC national.
