World Heritage Day is annually observed on April 18, set by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Paris since 1972.

The day aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and preserving historical and archaeological sites around the world that have achieved world heritage status.
