The “Jumeira site” is one of the most prominent archeological sites in Dubai, the UAE, and the whole region. This is due to the fact that it represents an Islamic city that dates back to the Abbasid period (900-1100 AD).

Eng. Yacoub Yousuf Al Ali, Director of Archeology Department at Dubai Municipality's Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department, recounts the importance of this site to Dubai Post, as it played a vital role in the trade route between Oman and the Arabian Peninsula.
